One of the toughest things for us to do sometimes is forgive another. Because of this our relationships become ruined. There would be practically no divorces if we could simply forgive one another.
Satan gets an advantage over us when we don't forgive. The Apostle Paul wrote, "To whom you forgive any thing, I forgive also: for if I forgave any thing to whom I forgave it, for your sakes forgave I it in the person of Christ: Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices (2 Cor 2.10-11)."
Let's forgive any one that has trespassed against us. We are bound to come against the obstacle of unforgiveness, but let's not let Satan get an advantage over us. If we can't forgive on our own strength we must realize it is in our best interest to do so and ask God to help us forgive and be reconciled.
Being married to a woman of different faith and culture has proven too much for me to handle. Sometimes when we have disagreements that lead to an argument or fight I am unable to forgive . But whenever I ask God to help me forgive her and be reconciled, know matter how strong the disagreement or fight, He brings us back together miraculously within moments and it seems as if we never had the fight in the first place. The instant we forgive one another we forget it even occured.
Let's not let our relationships with God, our neighbors and our family be destroyed by unforgiveness. Let's ask God to forgive us for not forgiving others and to give us grace to forgive when we find it too hard to do.
"Dear Lord, please forgive us for not forgiving others, as you have commanded us to do, and give us grace to forgive those who have trespassed against us. Thank you. Amen."
