ASHAMED

"I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth: to the Jew first, and also to the Greek." Rom 1.16

The Apostle Paul wrote that he was not ashamed of the gospel because he knew that it was God's power to save every one that believes on Christ when told to them in person with our mouth (Rom 1.16, 1 Cor 1.21 & 4.15 and Eph 6.19 & Col 4.3-4). Can we say that we are unashamed of the gospel?

I am as guilty as others of being ashamed of the gospel. There are times that I will not tell another the good news even though they are standing right next to me, but we ought not to be, "For whosoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words, of him shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he shall come in his own glory, and in his Father's and of the holy angels (Lk 9.26)." "Whosoever shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven, But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven (Mt 10.32-33)."

We should consider these sayings of Christ and take heed, for he has commanded us to, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature (Mk 16.15)." Do you know what the gospel is and how to preach it? If not then you are like many others who have been taught the 'plan of salvation' in place of the gospel (See PLAN OF SALVATION on www.preach-the-gospel.org.). It's simple to preach the gospel to another after asking them, "Did you hear the good news?" and telling them - "Christ died for our sins, he was buried, and he rose again the third day (1 Cor 15.3-4)."

We have no excuse to not confess Christ before men now that we know what the gospel is and how to preach it (Mt 10.32 & Mk 16.15). In so doing we save others and are blessed in our deed (1 Cor 4.15 and James 1.25), but if we deny him he will also deny us (Mt 10.32-33).

Let's not be ashamed of the gospel of Christ for it is the power of God to save every one that believes when we preach it to them in person with our mouth (Rom 1.16, 1 Cor 1.21 & 4.15 and Col 4.3-4).
