"Whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel's the same shall save it (Mk 8.35)."

Most people think that more money means a better life. This is false. Money can harm us. "For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows (1 Tim 6.10)."

Surely we need money to live, but when it becomes our primary purpose for living and what drives us we err. Christ teaches - "Lay not up for yourselves treasure on earth where moth and rust corrupts and where thieves break through and steal. But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust corrupts, and where thieves do not break through and steal (Mt 6.19-21)." and "Seek first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added to you (Mt 6.33)." He promises wages to them that reap in his harvest (See NEED WORK? on www.preach-the-gospel.org) and makes it clear,

"You cannot serve both God and money (Mt 6.24)." says Christ, and the Apostle Paul writes, "He died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again. (2 Cor 5.15). We live for Christ by preaching the gospel to seven billion people as Christ commands us to do (Mk 16.15). To fulfil his command we must also teach them that believe to preach the gospel. This is why he also commands us to "Teach them to observe all things I have commanded you (Mt 28.20)." When the work of preaching the gospel to every one the end will come and Christ will return and take us to be with him forever (Mk 16.15 & Mt 28.20, Mt 24.14 & 30-31 and 1 Thes 4.13-18), but in the meanwhile we are turning the world right-side up (See TURN THE WORLD RIGHT SIDE UP and IMAGINE on www.preach-the-gospel.org).

Preaching the gospel is for every believer. Anyone can do it by simply asking another, "Did you hear the good news (Gospel means good news.)?" and telling them - "Christ died for our sins, he was buried, and he rose the third day (1 Cor 15.1-4)." In so doing we save every one that believes (Rom 1.16) (See SAVED on www.preach-the-gospel.org for a definition of 'saved'.) "

We live for Christ by preaching the gospel and teaching them that believe how to preach it (Mk 16.15 & Mt 28.20). In so doing we turn the world right-side up and speed Christ's return. This is how we have a better life (Mk 8.35).
