CONFESS

"If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God has raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved (Rom 10.9)."

A commonly held belief among christians is that we must call upon the Lord to be saved (Rom 10.13). We have built a whole doctrine around this verse, yet the following verse says, "How then shall they call on him of whom they have not believed? (Rom 10.13a)." Calling on the Lord is for believers, not for unbelievers to be saved (See THE SINNER'S PRAYER on www.preach-the-gospel.org.). The lost are saved by believing on the Lord Jesus Christ after we tell them the good news (gospel).

Christians are not telling others the good news, though, so people aren't getting saved. How important it is to confess with our mouth the Lord Jesus Christ. Confessing Him with our mouth is part of our salvation, the other part is to believe in our heart that God has raised him from the dead (Rom 10.9).

Something wrong has occurred in the evangelical religion. They are not teaching their people what the gospel is nor how to preach it. Instead they have replace it with the false doctrine that we must confess our sins to God and ask him to come into our heart. This doctrine is taken from (Rom 10.9 & 13a and 1 Jn 1.9). It is not necessary to confess our sins and call upon the Lord to be saved. Calling on the Lord and confessing our sins is for believers (See THE SINNER'S PRAYER on www.preach-the-gospel.org.). To be saved a person must simply believe on the Lord Jesus Christ after the gospel is preached to them (Jn 3.36 & 6.47, Acts 16.31 and 1 Cor 1.21 & Mk 16.15) and tell others the good news (gospel) so that they too might believe.

Christ's great command - "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creatures (Mk 16.15)." is not being fulfilled because man's 'plan of salvation' has leavened the whole lump (See A LITTLE LEAVEN on www.preach-the-gospel.org). Preaching the gospel is confess ing with our mouth to others that - "Christ died for our sins, he was buried, and he rose the third day (1 cor 15.1-4)." This is easy to do after asking them, "Did you hear the good news (Gospel means good news.)?

A person does not have to call upon the Lord to be saved. They must simply believe on the Lord Jesus Christ after we preach the gospel to them. Then they must confess him with their mouth to others by preaching the gospel so that others can be saved.
