"And you has he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;"

"We know we are of God and that the whole world lies in wickedness (1 Jn 5.19)," wrote the Apostle John. He appealed to others by declaring to them the things he saw, heard and handled of the Word of life that they also might believe on Christ and be born of God (1 Jn 1.1-3, 5.1 & Jn 6.47).

We must also declare those things the Apostle John saw and heard (and wrote down) so that others might believe on Christ and be brought to life (Acts 20.31). What did the Apostle John as well as the other apostles see and hear as they walked with him during the course of his earthly ministry? They saw his miracles, they heard his teachings, they felt his love and they were taught to love one another. They also witnessed his ultimate act of love by dying on the cross for our sins. He was buried and rose on the third day proving that he is indeed the Son of God.

Christ showed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking to them of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God (Acts 1.3). While they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight, being told by two men in white that He shall in like manner come as you have seen him go into heaven (Acts 1.9-10). These things are written that we might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing we might have life through his name (Jn 20.31).

A person must be born again to have life (Jn 3.3 & 10.10) and we play a great part in this. Christ commands us to - "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature (Mk 16.15)." "Teaching them to observe all things I have commanded you (Mt 28.20)." To preach the gospel to another simply ask them if they have heard the good news (Gospel means good news.). I call this the catch phrase (Mt 4.19), then tell them - "Christ died for our sins, he was buried, and he rose again the third day (1 Cor 15.3-4)." This is the gospel according to the scriptures.

Will you obey Christ's command to preach the gospel to every creature (Mk 16.15) and teach them that believe to preach it (Mt 28.20)? In so doing we bring others from death to life and create a world where love is the rule (James 2.8) rather than the exception (See IMAGINE on
