The apostle John knew that the whole world lies in wickedness (See above.). But he walked with Jesus enough to know that a man must be born again (Jn 3.3 & 7). The world can't help it because they are born into sin, but we can help it by preaching the gospel and teaching them that believe to preach it (Mk 16.15 & Mt 28.20).
John wrote, "That which we have seen and heard declare we to you, that you also may have fellowhip with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ (1 Jn 1.3)." Preaching the gospel to another gives them the opportunity to believe on Christ and be saved (Jn 6.47 & Acts 16.31). It brings them over to the good side. Unless we declare the gospel to the world in person with our mouth as the first disciple did (1 Cor 1.21, Eph 6.19-20 & Col 4.3-4) it will continue to lie in wickedness (See Our Duty on www.preach-the-gospel.org.).
The Apostle Paul wrote, "Moreover brethren, I declare to you the gospel which I preached to you, which also you have received, and wherein you stand... I delivered to you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures, he was buried, and he rose again the third day according to the scriptures (1 Cor 15.1 & 3-4)." To preach the gospel simply ask another if they have heard the good news and tell them - "Christ died for our sins, he was buried, and he rose the third day."
The world can't help it for they are born into sin, but we can help it. We can bring them over to the good side (1 Jn 1.3) by placing the gospel on our lips to them (Eph 6.19) and teaching them to preach it as well (1 Jn 1.3, Mk 16.15, Mt 28.20).
