"He looked toward Sodom and Gomorrah, and toward all the land of the plain, and beheld, and, lo, the smoke of the country went up as the smoke of a furnace(Gen 19.28)."
"Flee fornication. Every sin that a man does is without the body; but he that commits fornication sins against his own body (1 Cor 6.18)."

The definition of fornication is, "voluntary sexual intercourse between two unmarried persons or two persons not married to each other." Homosexuality is one form of fornication. God doesn't hate sinners. He hates sin. He loved us enough to go to the cross for our sin. Therefore it is our duty to preach the gospel and teach them that believe to preach it (Mk 16.15 & Mt 28.20). Thereby we restore righteousness to our nation (Prov 14.34).

The word 'sodomy', defined as "anal or oral copulation with a member of the opposite sex" is derived from the ancient city of Sodom. The inhabitants of the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah and the cities round about were destroyed for their blatant homosexuality (Gen 13.13, 19.24). "The same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed [them] all (Lk 17.29)." "turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes condemned [them] with an overthrow, making [them] an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly (2 Pet 2.6);" "Even as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire (Jud 1.7)."

God would have withheld his great wrath from the cities of Sodom, Gomorrah and the cities around them if there were but fifty righteous men in Sodom (Gen 18.26). Are there fifty righteous men in our city that will preach the gospel and teach them that believe to preach it? To preach the gospel to another simply ask another if they have heard the good news (Gospel means good news.) and tell them - "Christ died for our sins, he was buried, and for rose from the grave three days later (1 Cor 15.3-4)." We beget new creatures (1 Cor 4.15b) who are born of God (1 Jn 5.19) by preaching this same gospel that the Apostle Paul himself received and preached (1 Cor 15.3) and this is what really matters (See Gal 6.15-16).

Let's not forget what happened to Sodom & Gomorrah and the cities about them. Are there fifty righteous people in the cities in our nation that will preach the gospel and teach others to preach it thereby rescuing our nation from the wickedness in which it lies (See DO THE MATH and TELL THEM on www.preach-the-gospel.org). Read a one-page paper on www.preach-the-gospel.org each day for understanding and knowledge that will encourage you to preach the gospel and teach others to preach it.
