Christ's command to every believer is - "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature (Mk 16.15)." After this has been accomplished the end will come and he will return to takes us to be with him in heaven forever (Mt 24.14 &31, 1 Thes 4.13-18). How many did you preach the gospel to today?
Why is it that I can ask any christian, "How many people did you preach the gospel to today?" and the answer is zero? Some say they preach the gospel every day, but when I ask them what gospel are they preaching?" they say it doesn't matter. But it does! The gospel according to the scriptures is - "Christ died for our sins, he was buried, and he rose the third day (1 Cor 15.3-4)." This is the gospel the apostle Paul received and preached (1 Cor 15.3-4), and he wrote, "If any man preach any other gospel to you than that you have received, let him be accursed (Gal 1.8-9)."
The reason that christians aren't preaching the gospel is that another gospel, commonly referred to as the 'plan of salvation', has crept in and taken it's place. It's goal is to have a person receive Christ by a 'prayer of salvation' or 'sinner's prayer. The scriptures used to make up the 'plan of salvation' are misinterpreted and taken out of context (See THE SINNER'S PRAYER on www.preach-the-gospel.org.). Christ's command is "Preach the gospel (Mk 16.15)." not present the plan of salvation - Herein lies the problem.
Because the gospel is not being preached as it ought to be our nation lies in wickedness (1 Jn 5.19). No gospel means no salt, no light. In other words darkness and corruption prevail. Man's 'plan of salvation' is not getting the job done. There are 6.5 billion people who must have the gospel preached to them before the end will come (Mk 16.15 & Mt 24.14) and Christ returns to take us to be with him forever (Mt 24.31 & 1 Thes 4.13-18). Our job is to turn our nation and world right-side up by preaching the gospel, thus preparing the way for Christ's return.
To preach the gospel simply ask another if they have heard the good news (Gospel means good news.) or announce, "good news" and tell them - "Christ died for our sins, he was buried, and he rose the third day." This is the gospel according to the scriptures and it will not return void (Is 58.11). For it pleases God by the foolishness of preaching it (Mk 16.15, 1 Cor 1.21 & 4.15 and Rom 1.16) to save them that believe. Most adults know it already, but there is a big difference between knowing and believing. By preaching the gospel to others we give them the chance to believe on Christ and be saved (Jn 3.36, 6.47 & Acts 16.31).
We are commanded by Christ to go into the world and preach the gospel (Mk 16.15). When it has been preached to every person in the world the end will come and Christ will return and take us to be with Him forever (Mt 24.14 & 31 and 1 Thes 4.13-18). Let's do it! How many did you preach the gospel to today?
