Christ said that we are to seek first the kingdom of God (Mt 6.33). Another word for kingdom is family. We increase the size of God's family when we preach the gospel.
Christ's command to us is, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature (Mk 16.15)." The gospel according to the scriptures is - "Christ died for our sins, he was buried, and he rose the third day (See 1 Cor 15.1-4)." "This gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness to all nations; and then the end shall come ( 24.14)."
Telling another the good news (gospel) gives them the opportunity to believe on Christ and be born of God (1 Jn 5.1) into his kingdom of righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Ghost (Rom 14.17). By teaching them that believe to preach the gospel (Mt 28.20) the seed is increased exponentially, increasing God's kingdom on earth (See TWO OR THREE on www.preach-the-gospel.org.). "Thy kingdom come, thy will be done here on earth as it is in heaven (Mt 6.10).
One of the biggest stumbling blocks to preaching the gospel is that, "We cannot serve God and mammon (Mt 6.24)." We are slaves to money, but this ought not to be. Christ promises wages to them that reap in harvest (Jn 4.36). Nobody needs to be out of work for there are seven billion people on earth we must preach the gospel to (See NEED WORK? on www.preach-the-gospel.org). Christ says, "Labour not for the meat which perishes, but for that meat which endures unto everlasting life (Jn 6.27)."
We don't have to be a slave to money. God supplies all our need when we seek first his kingdom (Mt 6.33 & Phil 4.19). Being afraid to tell others the good news at work is a good indication that we are serving mammon instead of God. It only takes three seconds to tell another the good news that "Christ died for our sins, he was buried, and he rose the third day ( 1 Cor 15.3-4)." after asking them if they have heard the good news (the catch phrase).
Nobody would need to be out of work if they knew what the gospel is and how to preach it. After this gospel has been preached to every person in every nation the end will come and Christ will return and takes us to be with him forever. This is the blessed hope (Titus 2.13). Meanwhile we turn our world right-side up (SeeIMAGINE on www.preach-the-gospel.org.).
Lets seek first the kingdom of God by preaching the gospel and teaching them that believe to preach it (Mk 16.15 & Mt 28.20).
