"Be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves (James 1.22)."

Sometimes when I preach the gospel to another and try to teach them to preach the gospel they will tell me, "We just have to live it."

We are fooling ourselves if we think we can live it with out telling others the good news. In James letter to the twelve tribes scattered abroad he wrote, "If any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like a man beholding his natural face in a glass: For he beholdeth himslf, and goes his way, and straightway forgets what manner of man he was. But whoso looks into the perfect law of liberty, and continues therein, being not a forgetrul hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed (Jas 1.23-25). The work is that we must preach the gospel to every person in the world. Then the end will come and Christ will return and take us to be with him forever (Mt 24.14 & 30-31 and 1 Thes 4.13-18).

God's two greatest commands are to - "Love Him with all our our heart, mind, soul and strength." and "Love our neighbor as ourself." How can we say we are living it without preaching the gospel to others because we love Christ by obeying his commands (Jn 14.21). His command is to "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. Preaching the gospel means to tell the good news that "Christ died for our sins, he was buried, and he rose the third day" to others in person with our mouth. How can we say that we love our neighbor if we don't preach the gospel to them, allowing them to believe on Christ and be saved (See SAVED! for a definition of salvation on

Instead of being hearers of the word only, fooling ourselves; let's tell others the good news and teach them that believe to tell it. Live it.
