"Whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel's, the same shall save it (Mk 8.35)."

Two days ago I preached the gospel to a couple of young men who were fresh out of drug rehabilitation. They showed me the needle scars all up and down their arms from heroin addiction and I encouraged them to preach the gospel. I asked the one who believed if he wanted to be a winner or a loser. He said, "A winner" then I told him that to be a winner he has to be a loser and showed him the above verse.

Prior to departing I got their e-mail addresses and gave them my card that explains how to preach the gospel along with the preach-the-gospel website. I encouraged them to make preaching the gospel their primary reason for living (2 Cor 5.15) and promised them that God would supply all their need if they would preach the gospel (Mt 6.33, Jn 4.36 & Phil 4.19). They were both homeless and hungry so I gave them twenty dollars, for which they thanked me and headed to Burger King for a meal.

Paul wrote, "He died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again (2 Cor 5.15). When we live for Christ by preaching the gospel he pays wages. "Say not, There are yet four months, and then comes harvest? Behold, I say to you, Lift up your eyes, an look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest. And he that reaps receives wages, and gathers fruit to life eternal (Jn 4.35-36)."

When we seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness he adds all things to us including eternal life (Mt 6.33 & Mk 10.29-30). Seeking the kingdom of God by preaching the gospel is putting the horse before the cart. But we must choose. Will we serve God or money (See ARE YOU A SLAVE? on Money is a terrible God to serve. "While some have coveted after, they have erred from the faith and pierced themselves through with many sorrows (1 Tim 6.10b)," wrote Paul to Timothy,

To preach the gospel simply ask another if they have heard the good news (gospel) and tell them - "Christ died for our sins, he was buried, and he rose the third day (1 Cor 15.1-4)." Every time we preach the gospel to another we give them the chance to believe on Christ, and be born again into the kingdom of God (1 Jn 5.1). Then we can teach them who believe to preach the gospel as well so that more will be added to God's kingdom.

Are you a loser? To save our life we must lose it for Christ's sake and the gospel's (Mk 8.35 & 2 Cor 5.15).
