The gospel is not being preached as it ought to be. This is why we see so much hatred and crime in our nation. When we begin preaching the gospel we will see the love of God replace these.
To preach the gospel as we ought we must first define what the gospel is and what it is not. - " Moreover brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached to you, which also you have received, and wherein you stand; by such also you are saved if you keep in memory what I preach to you, unless you have believed in vain. For I delivered to you first of all that which I also recieved, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And he was buried, and he rose again the third day according to the scriputers (1 Cor 15.1-4)." The gospel is not the 'plan of salvation' whereby we must lead a person to Christ by showing them that they are a sinner and having them say a prayer of salvation (See PRAYER OF SALVATION and THE SINNER'S PRAYER on www.preach-the-gospel.org.). Christ did not say present a 'plan of salvation'. He commands us to preach the gospel. (Mk 16.15).
Now that we have established what the gospel is we can easily preach it by first askiing another if they have heard the good news (because gospel means good news). For the sake of simplicity we remove the 'according to the scriptures' and 'again', leaving - "Christ died for our sins, he was buried, and he rose the third day." This is the gospel according to the scriptures (1 Cor 15.3-4). Because the gospel is not being preached as it ought to be there is a missing ingredient. Love is one the the fruits of the Holy Spirit produced in believer's lives (Gal 5.22). "What the world needs now, is love, sweet love. It's the only thing, that there's just to little of," as the song goes. This is so true, for without love we have a mass of hateful people seeking their own (1 Cor 13.4-8), with no regard for their neighbor. With love, though, we can have a drastically better world, for love does no harm to it's neighbor (Rom 13.10).
A person cannot truly love until they have been born of God, because this is when a person is filled with the Holy Spirit that produces love (Eph 1.13). To be born of God a person must believe on Christ (Eph 1.13 & 1 Jn 5.1) and this occurs by the foolishness of preaching the gospel (Mk 16.15 and 1 Cor 1.21 & 4.15). "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life (Jn 3.16)." Verily, verily (truly, truly) I say to you , He that believes on me has everlasting life (Jn 6.47)."
Tell others the good news so that they can believe on Christ, be born of God and produce love. Then teach them that believe to tell the good news so the gospel seed will be multiplied, producing more love. The missing ingredient is the gospel.
