If you had to choose would you take every thing that money can buy or love, joy and peace? It's a no-brainer. But most people (Christians included) are serving money and don't know there is a better option. We are looking for love, joy and peace in money and things instead of serving God.
When Christ was tempted of satan in the wilderness satan told him, "All these things will I give you, if you will fall down and worship me (Mt 4.9)." Christ says, "Beware of covetousness: for a man's life consists not in the abundance of the things which he possesses (Lk 12.15)." (See: 1 Jn 2.15, 1 Tim 6.6 & Heb 13.5.). "Seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you (Mt 6.33 & Lk 12.31). There's that word again. We seek the kingdom of God by preaching the gospel and teaching them that believe to preach it (Mk 16,.15 & Mt 28.20). It is so simple to preach the gospel even a child can do it (See below).
The Apostle Paul writes, "He died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live to themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again (2 Cor 5.15)." Again, we live for Christ is by preaching the gospel and teaching them that believe to preach it, as he commands us to do (Mk 16.15 & Mt 28.20). The gospel according to the scriptures - "Christ died for our sins, he was buried, and he rose the third day (1 Cor 15.1-4)." is easily preached to by first asking another if they have heard the good news (Gospel means good news.). There are seven billion people who must have the gospel preached to them before Christ returns and takes us to be with him forever.
Nobody should be out of work during this time of high unemployment (See THE ECONOMIC CRISIS on www.preach-the-gospel.org.). "The Lord has ordained that those who preach the gospel should live of the gospel (1 Cor 9.14)." In fact, Christ says - "Labour not for the meat which perishes, but for that meat which endures to everlasting life (Jn 6.27)." The good news is the He promises wages to them that reap in his harvest (Jn 4.35-36) and it is impossible for God to lie (Tit 1.2 & Heb 6.18). Will we labour for the meat that perishes or serve God. We can't serve both (Mt 6.24).
Money is a terrible God to serve (1 Tim 6.10), but we have a way out (Mt 6.33). God supplies all our need when we serve Him by preaching the gospel and teaching others to do so (Mk 16.15, Mt 28.20, Phil 4.19).
Money is a terrible God to serve (1 Tim 6.10), but we have a way out (Mt 6.33). God supplies all our need when we serve Him by preaching the gospel and teaching others how to do so (Mk 16.15, Mt 28.20, Phil 4.19).
We must choose (Mt 6.24). Will we serve money or God (See THE MONEY GOD on www.preach-the-gospel.org.)?
