"If you fulfil the royal law according to the scripture, THOU SHALT LOVE THY NEIGHBOR AS THYSELF, you do well (Jas 2.8)."

What is the greatest thing we can do to love our neighbor?" I believe it is to preach the gospel to them so that they might believe on Christ and be saved (Jn 6.47 & Acts 16.31) (Please see SAVED on for a definition of 'saved'.).

Christ says - "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believes and is baptized shall be saved (Mk 16.15 & 16a)." "It pleased God by the foolishness of preaching (the gospel, Mk 16.15) to save them them that believe (1 Cor 1.21b)." "But how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach, except they be sent (Christ has ordained us that we go and bring forth fruit, Jn 15.16.)? as it is written, HOW BEAUTIFUL ARE THE FEET OF THEM THAT PREACH THE GOSPEL OF PEACE, AND BRING GLAD TIDINGS OF GOOD THINGS (Rom 10.14-15)!" How can we bring forth fruit without planting the gospel seed. "He that goes forth and weeps, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him (Ps 126.6)."

Let's get back to the main topic. How can we preach the gospel to our neighbor if we don't know what the gospel is? Sadly, this is the case because churches are not teaching us how to preach the gospel. Instead they have replaced it with their 'plan of salvation' which can only be preached from a pulpit (See PLAN OF SALVATION on But the Apostle Paul clearly defines the gospel in his first letter to the Corinthian believers - "Moreover, brethren, I declare to you the gospel which I preached to you, which also you have received, and wherein you stand... I delivered to you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the the scriptures (1 Cor 15.1-4)."

After asking another if they have heard the good news (Gospel means good news.) tell them - "Christ died for our sins, he was buried, and he rose the third day (1 Cor 15.3-4)." It's this simple to preach the gospel. Remember: Christ commands us to - "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature (Mk 16.15)." not present the 'plan of salvation' (See GO on

Do you want to love your neighbor as yourself? Tell them the good news. It allows them to believe on Christ and be saved (Jn 6.47 & Acts 16.31). Then teach them to do the same (Mk 16.15 & Mt 28.20).
