THE RAT RACE

"Seek the kingdom of God and all these things will be added to you (Lk 12.31)."

Most people serve money (on www.preach-the-gospel.org.). They work their fingers to the bone to put food on the table, clothes on their bodies and shelter over their heads, not to mention the other things they think will bring happiness (See THE MONEY GOD on www.preach-the-gospel.org.). The good news is that there is a way out of the rat race.

The Lord set me free from slavery to money when I started preaching the gospel message full-time (See MY TESTIMONY on www.preach-the-gospel). He will do the same for anyone that chooses to serve Him in the gospel, for God is no respector of persons (Eph 6.9 & 1 Pet 1.17). "Come to me, all you that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and you shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light (Mt 11.28-30)."

Christ promises wages to them that reap in His harvest by obeying his commands to - "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature (Jn 4.35-36 & Mk 16.15)." and "Teach them to observe all things I have commanded you (Mt 28.20).". He supplys all our need when we make the gospel our first priority (Mt 6.33 & Phil 4.19). "For whosoever will lose his life for my sake and the gospel's the same shall save it (Mk 8.35)." The alternative is to serve money.

Money is a hard god to serve for, "They that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition (damnation)... While some have coveted after it (money) they have erred from the faith and pierced themselves through with many sorrows (1 Tim 6.9-10). Remember Christ's words? - "Life does not consist in the abundance of things that a man possesses (Lk 12.15)." "For what shall it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses his own soul (Mt 16.26)." "We can't serve both God and mammon (money) (Mt 6.24)."

To preach the gospel simply ask another if they have heard the good news (Gospel means good news.) and tell them - "Christ died for our sins, he was buried, and he rose the third day (1 Cor 15.3-4)." The instant they believe on Christ after we preach the gospel to them they are born of God (Jn 3.3 & 7 and 1 Jn 5.1a). Then we can teach them to preach the gospel and to teach them that believe to preach it as well thus multiplying the gospel seed (See TEACH THEM on www.preach-the-gospel.org).

Get out of the rat race. Everything we need is simply added to us when we make preaching the gospel our first priority (Mt 6.33, Mk 8.35 & Ps 84.11). What more could we ask for? Remember, "My yoke is easy and my burden is light (Mt 11. 30)."
