“Redeeming the time, because the days are evil (Eph 5.16).”

Life is short. Before we know it our life has passed us by and we are old. So it's important that we make the most of our time.

Everyday is a precious gift of time. We have 24 hours to make our mark on the world or do nothing. The best way to make a lasting difference is to go into the world and preach the gospel as Christ has commanded (Mk 16.15). We can't do this sitting in front of a TV.

We are children of the day (1 Thes 5.5) so let's get out in the world in the daytime and tell the good news to others as we go, teaching them that believe to tell it as well so that the gospel seed will be multiplied (See DO THE MATH on souls be saved. In so doing we make the most of our time.

Of course there are other things we must do to make the most of our time. To stay healthy we must eat right, exercise and get enough sleep. To be emotionally fit we must have our social and self esteem needs met and feel loved and a sense of belongingness (Maslow's Hiearchy of Needs). To be spiritually healthy we must read the bible and do what it says to do. To redeem the time we must do what Christ says to do. Otherwise we become hearers only, deceiving our own selves (Jas 1.22-25).

To tell the good news (preach the gospel) to another simply ask them if they have heard the good news and tell them - “Christ died for our sins, he was buried, and he rose the third day (1 Cor 15.3-4).” This is the single most important thing we can do to redeem the time because in so doing we fulfill the two greatest commands which are to love God and to love our neighbors as ourselves.

Preaching the gospel shows our love to Christ by keeping his commands (Jn 14.15 & 21) and love to our neighbor because it allows them to believe on Christ and be saved (Jn 6.47 & Acts 16.31). (See SAVED on for a definition of 'saved'.) Each day is a precious gift. Let's redeem the time.

Reading a paper on each day will encourage your heart to preach the gospel.
