There is a breach in our country because the gospel is not being preached as it ought to be (Jn 10.10a). Christians do not know what the gospel is nor how to preach it. This paper explains what the gospel is and how to repair the breach. "He that has ears to hear, let him hear (Mt 11.15)."
Rather than simply preach the gospel to others and let it save every one that believes, as the scriptures teach (Rom 1.16 & 1 Cor 1.21), we must have show others that they are sinners, have them confess their sin to God, and ask his forgiveness, and ask Christ to come into their heart. This is man's 'plan of salvation' and the scriptures used to support it are taken out of context and misinterpreted (See THE SINNER'S PRAYER on www.preach-the-gospel.org.). Jesus and the Apostle Paul refer to this as leaven (See Mt 16.6&12, and Gal 5.9.).
The gospel is - "Christ died for our sins, he was buried, and he rose the third day (1 Cor 15.3-4.)." The Apostle Paul himself received and preached this gospel (1 Cor 15.1-4) and it is 'God's power' to save every one that believes (Rom 1.16 & 1 Cor 1.21, Acts 16.31). See SAVED! on www.preach-the-gospel.org for a definition of saved. To repair the breach in our country caused by the gospel not being preached we must begin preaching it.
To preach the gospel simply ask another if they have heard the good news or declare "good news" and tell them - "Christ died for our sins, he was buried, and he rose the third day." They receive Christ and everlasting life the instant they believe on His name (Jn 1.12; 3.36 & 6.47 and Acts 16.31). After they believe they become born of God (1 Cor 4.15 & 1 Jn 5.1) and can be taught to preach the gospel. Only when the gospel is preached as it ought to be can righteousness prevail in our nation (Prov 14.34)..
Daily as we go we must ask others if they have heard the good news or announce "good news" and preach - "Christ died for our sins, he was buried, and he rose the third day." Then teach them that believe to preach the gospel as well (Mk 16.15 & Mt 28.20). In so doing we repair the breach (Is 58.12).
