THE RESURRECTION

“These are written, that you might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing you might have life through his name (Jn 20.31).”

The resurrection of Christ was passed down by word of mouth from them who saw it and eventually written down so that we also might believe and be saved (Jn 20.31). (See SAVED for a definition of 'saved' on www.preach-the-gospel.org.)

It is a historical fact with more written manuscripts in existence than most documents in the same time frame. Yet it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching the gospel to save them that believe (Mk 16.15 & 1 Cor 1.21).

We celebrate Christ's death burial and resurrection at Easter each year, yet it has lost its meaning because it it not being preached as it ought to be. It's so simple to preach the gospel that even a child can do it, and will do it if we teach them.

The gospel according to the scriptures is, “Christ died for our sins, he was buried, and he rose again the third day (1 Cor 15.3-4).” This ancient truth is easily preached after first asking another, “Did you hear the good news?” Preaching it to another in person with our mouth allows them to believe on Christ and be born of God (Jn 3.3&7, 6.47 & 1 Jn 5.1).

Will you open your mouth and preach the gospel to another so they might believe on Christ and be saved?

Please read a one-page paper on www.preach-the-gospel.org daily for encouragement to preach the gospel and to teach others how to preach it.
