I have a beef, as you know, with the evangelicals because of their 'plan of salvation' whereby we must lead another to Christ through a 'sinner's prayer' (See PLAN OF SALVATION and THE SINNER'S PRAYER on www.preach-the-gospel.org).
The problem is that to create this doctrine they have mishandled the word of truth, taking the scriptures out of context. Christ did not say for us to present man's 'plan of salvation'. He commands us to preach the gospel (Mk 16.15). Preaching the gospel is a no-brainer once we have defined it, and it is perfectly defined by the Apostle Paul in his letter to the Corinthian believers.
The gospel according to the scriptures is simple and clear - "Christ died for our sins, he was buried, and he rose again the third day (1 Cor 15.3-4)." But we have accepted a misconstrued 'plan of salvation' from the evangelical movement (See THE BIG LIE on www.preach-the-gospel.org.). Every verse used to support their 'plan of salvation' has either been taken out of context or misinterpreted (See THE SINNER'S PRAYER on www.preach-the-gospel.org.). Yet evangelicals will defend it tooth and nail because this is what they have been indoctrinated to believe.
To disprove the 'plan of salvation' I put together a paper linking 47 passages of scriptures to salvation (See 47 PASSAGES ON BELIEF on www.preach-the-gospel.org.). Even so they still say that a person is not born again by believing on Christ through the preached gospel (i.e. Mk 16.15, Jn 6.47, 1 Cor 1.21 & 4.15). They quote Jas 2.19b "...the devils also believe, and tremble." In proper context this verse emphasizes that "...faith without works is dead (v.20)." The greatest work is that 7 billion people must have the gospel preached to them that they might believe on Christ and be born again (of God).
Because the word of truth is not being rightly divided the gospel is not being preached as it ought to be and because the gospel is not being preached as it ought to be the world continues to lie in wickedness (1 Jn 5.19 & 1.3). The only way to fix this is to start at the beginning preaching the gospel boldly as we ought to and teaching others how to preach it (Mk 16.15 & Mt 28.20).
To preach the gospel according to the scripture to another simply ask them if they have heard the good news (Gospel means good news.) and tell them - "Christ died for our sins, he was buried and he rose again the third day (1 Cor 15.3-4)." Let's rightly divide the word of truth!
