"Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach (shame) to any people (Pr 14.34)." There is a great void in our country because the gospel is not being preached as it ought to be. I call it The Great Shame.
Christians aren't preaching the gospel because they don't know what the gospel is. The church has substituted it's 'plan of salvation' for the gospel. The result is that sin abounds in place of righteousness. Even our economic system is in crisis because of the gospel not being preached as it ought to be (See THE ECONOMIC CRISIS on www.preach-the-gospel.org.). This is a great shame!
The only solution is to begin preaching the gospel and teaching others to preach it. But we must know what the gospel is before we can preach it. The gospel according to the scriptures is - "Jesus died for our sins, he was buried, and he rose the third day (1 Cor 15.1-4)." It can easily be preached by first asking another if they have heard the good news or saying, "good news."
Daily as we go we must preach the gospel if we are to turn our nation right-side up. Remember - "Have you heard the good news?" "Jesus died for our sins, he was buried, and he rose the third day." Let's remove the Great Shame of sin in our nation.
