"For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul (Mk 8.36)?"

Most people don't even give a thought to the after life. They figure that this is all there is and that after they die it is all over. But the bible says, "It is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment (Heb 9.27)." If we are living only for ourselves we are missing the mark of the high callling in Christ Jesus (2 Cor 5.15 & Phil 3.14).

Most people mistakingly thinking that whoever dies with the most toys wins. But there are no u-haul trailers going to heaven. "We brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. And having food and raiment let us be therewith content (1 Tim 6.7-8)." It's better to lay up treasure in heaven than on earth where rust and moth decays and thieves break through and steal (Mt 6.19). "God said to him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: Then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided (Lk 12.20)?"

"He that winneth souls is wise (Pr 11.30)." To win souls we must make preaching the gospel and teaching them that believe to preach the gospel our primary ambition in life. "For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whoseover shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel's, the same shall save it... "Whosoever therefore whall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven. But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven. If we are not willing to confess Christ before men we fail to take eternity into account. We are short-sighted.

The gospel is simple to preach. Just ask another if they have heard the good news (Gospel means good news.) and tell them - "Christ died for our sins, he was buried, and he rose again the third day (1 Cor 15.3-4). Then teach them that believe to do the same.

Let's not be short-sighted, but rather get an eternal perspective by preaching the gospel and teaching them that believe to preach it (Mk 16.15 & Mt 28.20).

Read a one-page paper on each day for encouragement to preach the gospel and to teach them that believe to preach it. God bless.
