"The thief comes to steal, kill and destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly (Jn 10.10, KJV)." Notice that the word 'might' is used twice in this saying of Christ. This means that his promise of life and life more abundant is conditional.
To have life more abundant we must obey Christ's command to preach the gospel how that - "He died for our sins, he was buried, and he rose the third day (1 Cor 15.3-4)." It's easy to preach after asking another if they have heard the good news (Gospel means good news.). The trouble is that the so-called churches are not teaching us how to preach it. Instead, they have replaced the gospel according to the scriptures (1 Cor 15.3-4) with their 'plan of salvation' that can only be preached from a pulpit (See PLAN OF SALVATION on www.preach-the-gospel.org for further explanation).
Of course, to preach from the pulpit we must attend seminary (I call it cemetary). From there its just a matter of abiding by the establishments doctrine and working our way up the ladder. The trouble with the plan of salvation, though, is that it negates Christ's command to - "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature (Mk 16.15)." Laymen are left barefooted and suffer 'defeet' (pun intended) because they don't know what the gospel is or how to preach it. Therefore they become 'hearers only', deceiving themselves (James 1.22-25). So-called missionaries compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and make him (or her) twofold the child of hell than themselves by this false doctrine (See Mt 15.9 and THE SINNER'S PRAYER on www.preach-the-gospel.org.).
No gospel - no salt and no light (Mt 5.13-15). Because the gospel is not being preached as it ought to be the world continues to lie in wickedness (1 Jn 1.3 & 5.19). Our own country is a perfect example of the reproach that sin brings (Pr 14.34). We owe trillions (See THE ECONOMIC CRISIS on www.preach-the-gospel.org.) and our new motto is, "Land of free and home of the gays (not brave)." We can't build prisons fast enough to hold all the criminals and we don't know that taking innocent unborn childrens lives is wrong. This unrighteousness is because the gospel is not being preached. It's not because they are not accepting it. It's because "A little leaven has leavened the whole lump (Gal 5.9)."
Christ warns: "Take heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees (Mt 16.6)." (their doctrine, v. 12). A little leaven leavenened the whole lump (Gal 5.9), but we can change it one person at a time by preaching the gospel to them and and teaching them to preach it. Faith, hope and love remain; but the greatest of these is love (1 Cor 13.13). Do we love Christ enough to obey his commands to preach the gospel and to teach them that believe to preach it (See Jn 14.15). Do we love our neighbor enough to do the same, in so doing giving them the gift of life and life more abundant (Jn 10.10) (See IS 58.12 enhanced on www.preach-the-gospel.org)?
Let's not let the devil steal our shoes (See THE BIG LIE on www.preach-the-gospel.org)! Let's stand, having our feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace (Eph 6.15) by asking others, as we go, if they have heard the good news and telling them - "Christ died for our sins, he was buried, and he rose again the third day." Then teach them that believe to preach the gospel (and to teach them that believe to preach it (See TAKE THE KINGDOMon www.preach-the-gospel.org.).
Please read a one-page paper on www.preach-the-gospel.org each day for encouragement to preach the gospel and to teach them that believe to do the same. God bless.
