SATISFACTION

"Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things: so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's (Ps 103.5)."

Remember the Rolling Stone's song, "I Can't Get No Satisfaction?" This is the way it is in the world. We try to satisfy ourselves with drugs, alcohol, sex, power, etc. but nothing satisfies that God shaped void inside of every person until we are born again into his family and begin doing his will which is to preach the gospel.

After a day out in the world preaching the gospel I always tell my wife, "It was a good day today." I feel satisfied to have told the good news to some and to teach them that believed how to tell it (Mk 16.15 & Mt 28.20). Doing God's will fills that empty void within me. But when I stay home for even a day or two I get depressed. If I don't tell others the good news as I go into the world I feel it was a wasted day and want to bury my head in the sand. Maybe this has to do with Christ's saying, "Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven, but whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven (Mt 10.32)."

Christ also says - "Whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel's, the same shall save it (Mk 8.35)." We ought to obey Christ's command to - "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature?" for our own satisfaction, but also for the salvation of others. Preaching the gospel to another allows them to believe on Christ and be saved (Jn 3.36, .47 & Acts 16.31). Then we can teach them how to preach the gospel thereby multiplying the gospel seed and speeding Christ's return to take us to be with him forever (Mt 24.14 & 30-31 and 1 Thess. 4.13-18). We turn the world right-side up in the process (See IMAGINE on www.preach-the-gospel.org).

How can we preach the gospel if we don't know what it is? I was never taught what the gospel is or how to preach it during the 30 years I was part of the evangelical movement. This is because they have replaced the gospel with their 'plan of salvation' whereby we must lead another to Christ through a 'sinner's prayer' (See PLAN OF SALVATION on www.preach-the-gospel.org.). This 'plan of salvation' can only be preached from a pulpit, effectively keeping the gospel from being preached in the world as Christ commands (See TIGHT-LIPPED CHRISTIANS on www.preach-the-gospel.org.).

If we want satisfaction we must keep Christ's commands to preach the gospel and to teach them that believe to preach it (Mk 16.15 & Mt 28.20), losing our lives for Christ and the gospel's sake.. To preach the gospel simply ask another, "Did you hear the good news?" and tell them - "Christ died for our sins, he was buried, and he rose the third day (1 Cor 15. 3-4). Then teach them how to preach the gospel as well (See TEACH THEM on www.preach-the-gospel.org.).

Please read a one-page paper each day on www.preach-the-gospel.org to learn more about preaching the gospel and to be encouraged to preach it and to teach them that believe to preach it.
