TELL OTHERS

"...it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe (1 Cor 1.21)."

Preaching the gospel means to tell others the good news in person with our mouth (not by TV, radio, internet, etc.). "For it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching (the gospel) to save them that believe (1 Cor 1.21 & Mk 16.15)."

The good news (gospel) is - "Christ died for our sins, he was buried, and he rose again the third day (1 Cor 15.3-4)." This is easily preached to another after asking them if they have heard the good news, thus allowing them to believe on Christ and be born of God (Jn 3.3 & 1 Jn 5.1). Then we can teach them to tell the good news as well (Mt 28.20) thereby multiplying the gospel seed.

Most people in the United States of America know the good news but knowing is not good enough. We must preach it to them in person with our mouth (Eph 6.19 & Col 4.3-4) to allow them to believe it and be born of God (1 Cor 1.21 & 1 Jn 5.1). The evangelical movement has replaced the gospel with their 'plan of salvation' whereby a person must say a prayer to be saved (See PLAN OF SALVATION and THE SINNER'S PRAYER on www.preach-the-gospel.org). But Christ commands us to preach the gospel (Mk 16.15), not present a 'plan of salvation'. Paul wrote, "I have begotten you through the gospel (1 Cor 4.15b)." "I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ for it is the power of God to save every one who believes (Rom 1.16)."

Telling the good news to another gives them the opportunity to believe on Christ and be saved (Jn 3.36 & 6.47 and Acts 16.31; See SAVED! on www.preach-the-gospel.org for a definition of 'saved'.). Ninety nine point nine percent of the world will never enter a church building so the pastor is preaching the 'plan of salvation' to the same congregation each Sunday (with maybe one or two visitors). But there are 7 billion people in the world to whom we preach the gospel. Go figure (See DO THE MATH on www.preach-the-gospel.org.).

Let's ask others if they have heard the good news and tell them, "Christ died for our sins, he was buried, and he rose the third day (1 Cor 15.1-4)." Thereby we give them a chance to believe on Christ and be saved. Then we can teach them to tell the good news as well (1 Jn 5.1)."
