“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God… (Jn 1.1-2).”

When the New Testament refers to 'the word' many times it is talking about Christ or the gospel. For example in the parable of the sower the seed is 'the word', which can mean the gospel (Mt 13.19-23, Mk 4.14-19 & Lk 8.11-15).

Before the New Testament was written 'the word' was - “Christ died for our sins, he was buried, and he rose the third day (1 Cor 15.3-4).” He commanded his disciples to go into all the world and preach this (the gospel) to every creature. Every one that believes it and is baptized will be saved (Mk 16.15, Rom 1.16 and 1 Cor 1.21 & 4.15).

To preach 'the word' to another simply ask them if they have heard the good news (Gospel means good news.) and tell them - “Christ died for our sins, he was buried, and he rose the third day.” After they receive Christ by believing on his name (Jn 1.12, 6.47 & Acts 16.31) teach them to tell others and to teach them that believe to tell it (See TEACH THEM on Thereby we multiply the word (the gospel).
