THE TITHE

"The Lord has ordained that they which preach the gospel should live of the gospel (1 Cor 9.14)."

The purpose of the tithe (tenth) is to support them that preach the gospel full time so that it might be preached to every person in every nation (Mk 16.15); and then the end will come and Christ will return and take us to be with him forever (Mt 24.14 & 30-31, and 1 Thes 4.13-18).

God promises to open the windows of heaven and pour out a blessing that we will not have room enough to receive when we faithfully pay God's tithe and offerings (Mal 3.10); but a curse is upon those who rob God of them (Mal 3.9). Remember: We shall have no other gods before Him for he is a jealous God (Ex 20.3 & 5)." Money can easily be our God, but we can't serve both God and money (Mt 6.24).

Sadly, the gospel isn't being preached as it ought to be because the the evangelical church has replaced it with their 'plan of salvation' (See PLAN OF SALVATION on www.preach-the-gospel.org). If a church is not preaching the gospel in the world it is merely a social club and not worthy of the tithe. Anyone can preach the real gospel by simply asking another if they have heard the good news and telling them - "Christ died for our sins, he was buried and he rose the third day (1 Cor 15.3-4)." The Apostle Paul himself received and preached this gospel (1 Cor 15.1-4) and we must do the same, for it saves every one that believes on Christ when we preach it to others in person with our mouth (Jn 3.36 & 6.37, Acts 16.31, Mk 16.15, Rom 1.16, 1Cor 1.21 & Eph 6.19-20). See SAVED! on www.preach-the-gospel.org for a definition of 'saved.'

The first ten percent of all our increase belongs to God and anything we give above that is considered an offering (Pr 3.9 & Mal 3. 8-10). The tithe began before the law of Moses but later was instituted into the law. Abraham tithed to Melchisedek who was a form of Christ (Gen 14.21 & Heb 5.6) and Christ says the tithe should not be left undone (Mt 23.23 & Lk 11.42). God wants all mankind to believe on Christ and be saved through the preaching of the gospel (Mk 16.15). Would you rather have 90% of your income with God's blessing or 100% with a curse (Ex 20.5-6, Mal 3.9)? It is impossible for Him to lie (Mal 3.10 & Tit 1.2).

Remember: The tithe is for the furtherance of the gospel. If you can find a church that is preaching the gospel as it ought to be (by every person) join it, tithe and start preaching the good news yourself. If not start your own church (See A FEW GOOD MEN on www.preach-the-gospel.org).

To preach the gospel simply ask another if they have heard the good news and tell them - "Christ died for our sins, he was buried, and he rose the third day (1 Cor 15.3-4)." "Prove Me now herewith, says the Lord of Hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven and pour out a blessing that you will not have room enough to receive it (Mal 3.10)."
