"Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust corrupts, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven... (Mt 6.19-20)."

Jesus goes on to say, "For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also... But seek first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness: and all these things shall be added to you (Mt 6.19-20 & 33)."

We seek the kingdom of God by preaching the gospel and teaching them that believe to preach it (Mk 16.15 & Mt 28.20). In so doing God's kingdom, or family, is increased on Earth (Mt 6.10), for the instant a person believes on Christ after we preach the gospel to them they become born of God (1 Jn 5.1). In other words we beget them (1 Cor 4.15). Then we can disciple them to preach the gospel as well (Mt 28.19-20) thereby laying treasure in heaven and leading a fruitful life (See BE FRUITFUL on

To preach the gospel to another simply ask them if they have heard the good news and tell them - "Christ died for our sins, he was buried, and he rose the third day (1 Cor 15.3-4)." Then teach them to preach the gospel as well, thus multiplying the gospel seed. People are born again into God's family (kingdom) by preaching of the gospel to them and then can enjoy fellowship with them (See FAMILYSHIP on

However, there is no fellowship between believers and unbelievers (2 Cor 7.14-16). We should come out from among them and be separate (2 Cor 7. 17-18). Instead of serving money and things we ought to serve God, for we can't serve them both (Mt 6.24) (See THE MONEY GOD on

Let's lay our treasure in heaven instead of on earth by seeking God's kingdom (See THE RAT RACE on
