WHAT ARE WE LIVING FOR?

"He died for all, the they which live should no longer live for themselves, but for him that died for them and rose again (2 Cor 5.15).

Those of us who have been born again into the family of God have went from being dead in our trespasses and sins, to alive in Christ. Therefore we ought no longer to live for ourselves but for Him who died for us and rose again (2 cor 5.15). The paper explains the essential element of living for Christ.

Jesus made it clear that we cannot serve both God and mammon (money) (Mt 6.24). But the whole world is a servant to money. As they say, Money is what makes the world go round. Its all about the haves and the have nots. But Christ promises wages to them that reap in his harvest (Jn 4.36). When we seek first the kingdom of God by doing his will he supplies all of our need (Jn 4.36, Mt 6.33).

What is God's will and what must we do to accomplish it? Christ came to save sinner's and we have a key role to play in this process for, "It pleased God by the foolishness of preaching (the gospel) to save them that believe (1 Cor 1.21)." Christ command is "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature (Mk 16.15)." Notice that he said go into the world to accomplish this, not sit in a church pew. To save sinner's we must preach the gospel to others as we go into the world. But how can we preach the gospel when we don't know what it is? This is something that the church is not teaching us. I attended evangelical churches for thirty years but was not taught what the gospel is nor how to preach it (See MY TESTIMONY on www.preach-the-gospel.org).

Once we know what the gospel is and how to preach it we can obey Christ's commands to preach the gospel and teach others to preach it (Mk 16.15 & Mt 28.20). The gospel, according to the scriptures, is - "Christ died for our sins, he was buried, and he rose again the third day (See 1 Cor 15.1-4)." This is the gospel the Apostle Paul himself received and preached (1 Cor 15.1-4). But evangelical doctrine has substituted a 'plan of salvation' for the gospel that can only be preached from a pulpit. It can't be preached in the world as Christ commands us to do. Therefore christians have become hearers of the word only, deceiving themselves (Jas 1.22-25). The alternative is to preach the gospel. In so doing God supplies all our needs (Mt 6.33 & Phil 4.19).

To preach the gospel another simply ask them if they have heard the good news and tell them - "Christ died for our sins, he was buried, and he rose again the third day (1 Cor 15.1-4)." Then teach them that believe to preach the gospel as well (Rom 1.16). In so doing we turn our world right-side up (See TURN THE WORLD RIGHT SIDE UP on www.preach the gospel.) and speed the return of Christ for us (Mt 24.14 & 30-31 and 1 Thes 4.13-18).

Now that we know what the gospel is and how to preach it we now longer have to serve money (See ARE YOU A SLAVE? on www.preach-the-gospel.org.), We can live for Christ and have the blessing of God in our lives (Jas 1.25). He supplies all our need as we reap in his harvest (See NEED WORK? and SEEK THE KINGDOM on www.preach-the-gospel.org).

Be encouraged to preach the gospel by reading a one-page paper each day on www.preach-the-gospel.org.
