"The seed is the word of God (Lk 8.11)."

The term 'word of God' refers to the gospel in many places in the New Testament.

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God (Jn 1.1) clarifies that the Word is the same as Christ. So when we preach Christ and him crucified (1 Cor 1.23 & 2.1) we are preaching the Word or the gospel. "And they spake unto him the word of the Lord, and to all that were in his house (Acts 16.32)." is an example where the 'word of God' is substituted for the gospel. "They that were scattered abroad went every where preaching the word (Acts 8.4.), Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria, and preached Christ to them (Acts 8.5)." The word and Christ are the same in this case.

It's important to know what the gospel is otherwise how can we preach it? Paul did a great job of defining the gospel that he received and preached and it is so simple that even a child can preach it. The gospel according to the scriptures - "Christ died for our sins, he was buried, and he rose the third day (1 Cor 15.3-4)." is easily preached to another after asking them if they have heard the good news (Gospel means good news.). We beget a new creature when we preach the Word (the gospel) to another in person with our mouth (1 Cor 4.15b & Eph 6.19) and this is what its all about (Read: Gal 6.15-16.).

We must preach the gospel (the word) to another before we can teach them the rest of the bible because the gospel is the power of God to save every one that believes (Rom 1.16), opening the eyes of their understanding to the scriptures. Christ warns us, "Give not that which is holy to the dogs, neither cast your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet and turn again and rend you (Mt 7.6)." And the Apostle Paul wrote, "The natural man receives not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned (1 Cor 2.14)."

We must first preach the gospel (the word) to another before we can teach them to observe Christ's commands (Mt 28.20) (i.e. Preach the gospel, Mk 16.15). "Preach the word (2 Tim 4.2)." wrote the Apostle Paul to Timothy, his son in the faith. In other words he told him to preach the gospel.

So let's "Go into all the world and preach the gospel (The word of God) to every creature (Mk 16.15)." teaching them that believe to observe all things Christ has commanded us (Mt 28.20) (i.e. "Preach the gospel.".)
